2. Think about how you would answer these questions:

  • How can content area resources and methods increase your  knowledge and student understanding?
  • How can honing your teaching skills (pedagogy) in your content area lead to improved teaching, cross-curricular strategies, and learning?
  • How can professional development increase your content knowledge and pedagogy?

3. Take the Preassessment.

Knowing your content and how to best facilitate learning for your students are paramount in transferring information/knowledge to your students. On a Likert scale from 1-10, with 1 being “little knowledge of,” 5 being “just enough knowledge of,” and 10 being “expert in content,” consider your knowledge of the content you are teaching.
Compose two well-developed paragraphs of five to seven sentences each.

  • The first paragraph should explain the number you selected and the rationale behind your choice.
  • The second paragraph should provide at least three examples supporting the rationale.

Provide your answers in the Assignments Tool. (Preassessment 1.1)
