Introduction to Teacher Tools
This module allows you to engage, using a hands-on approach, with the SAS Portal’s Teacher Tools including My Profile, My ePortfolio, My Website, Publish Your Best, My Communities, Curriculum Mapping, and the PD Center. These tools will allow you, as a trainer, to create, store, and organize SAS training materials and resources. Additionally, these tools enable teachers to develop and foster 21st Century technology skills while meeting the National Educational Technology Standards for Students, Teachers, and Administrators. |
Learning Outcomes:
After completing this unit you will be able to:
- Create a SAS Profile to store relevant professional information.
- Save materials to their personal ePortfolios.
- Build and organize the ePortfolio to store training documents and resources for turn-around SAS trainings.
- Embed pertinent Materials & Resources and documents from My ePortfolio within My Website.
- Explore SAS Professional Learning Communities and participate in the Communities, Blogs, and Forums that are available for educators.
- Join the SAS Professional Learning Community for SASITs and participate in the Communities, Blogs, and Forums.
- Locate a variety of free professional development courses that grant Act 48 credit in the PD Center.
- Practice adding District Curriculum Maps to My Curriculum Maps and Instructional Maps.
- Create an Instructional Map with Teacher Notes and upload Materials and Resources and other documents from My ePortfolio to embed within an Instructional Map.
- Understand how to produce classroom-ready curricular content using the Publish Your Best tool.
