Module Description

Volunteers and paraprofessionals can make substantive contributions to the classroom environment. Participants will acquire the skills to support volunteers and paraprofessionals, including developing guidelines, explaining duties, providing training, and discussing standards.

Learning Outcomes

In this module you will:

  • Investigate roles, standards, and guidelines for  paraprofessionals.

  • Explore the skills necessary to support and supervise volunteers and paraprofessionals.

  • Examine training opportunities for teachers and the paraprofessionals they supervise.

Assessments

Each assessment includes its own customized rubric with specific criteria and the required passing score for that assessment. Completion of all assessments is required. With instructor approval, assessments that do not meet the required passing score can be resubmitted for credit.
