• How can understanding the roles, standards, and guidelines for paraprofessionals aid in their supervision?
• How can volunteers and paraprofessionals best be supported?
• How can training enhance paraprofessional skills?

3. Take the Preassessment.

Think about the classroom in which you are currently teaching, or reflect on a classroom in which you have taught previously. In a well-developed paragraph of approximately five to seven sentences, discuss the following:

• In what ways do/did you utilize a paraprofessional in your classroom?
• What are/were the benefits to and drawbacks with having another adult in the classroom?
