After viewing Science 3-Asteroid Speed Lab in Topic E1, complete the following:

  1. Open the Instructional Practices document, and review the definitions for the following practices; Active Engagement, Project Based Learning, Strategic Thinking, and Modeling.
  2. Open the “Learning Activity 1-E-1” document here.
  3. After viewing Science 3 - Asteroid Speed Lab in Topic E1 Key Information, identify instances where the four identified Instructional Practices were observed in the video.
  4. Use the three additional blank spaces to note examples of additional Instructional Practices you observed.
  5. Save the document to your computer as 1E1_name.doc (e.g., 1E1_joesmith.doc).
  6. Use the Assignments Tool to submit your work.

Action Planning enables SAS Integration Trainers (SASITs) to identify significant aspects of the Standards Aligned System which they intend to share with training participants to enhance their understanding and use of the SAS portal.  As you explore each element and tool in the SAS portal, you will also select examples for training that are appropriate for your target audience.

  1. Utilize the Instruction Exploration document to navigate through the Assessments element of the portal.
  2. Open the “Learning Activity 1-E-2” document here.
  3. In Step One of the document, identify the key components from the Instruction element of the portal.
  4. In Step Two of the document, identify examples for each section of Instruction that are relevant for your target audience.
  5. Save the document to your computer as 1E2_name.doc (e.g., 1E2_JoeSmith.doc)
  6. Use the Assignments Tool to submit your work.
