Additional Materials & Resources

Voluntary Model Curriculum

In addition to searching for Materials & Resources, you can also find the Voluntary Model Curriculum.  Voluntary Model Curriculum (VMC), include sample units and lesson plans that are aligned to the Pennsylvania standards in curriculum frameworks for three content areas (Literacy/Writing, Mathematics, Science). Besides being available on this tab, all of the Voluntary Model Curriculum Unit and Lesson Plans can be located via a keyword search in Materials & Resources.

Learning Progressions

In the Materials & Resources section, you’ll find the Learning Progressions tab.  Learning Progressions identify foundational content standards (Eligible Content) that need to be mastered within a Subject.  These pathways will provide teachers with the opportunity to determine whether students have successfully mastered skills and are able to move forward along the road to career and college readiness.

Additionally, within the Learning Progressions tab, you can click on the links to locate Voluntary Model Curriculum Lessons that align to standards or eligible content statements.

Featured Content

The Featured Content page is a page that features a special collection of educational resources to assist educators in commemorating the 150thanniversaries of the Civil War and the Battle of Gettysburg.

Keystones to Opportunity

Finally, the Keystones to Opportunity tab provides information on and resources related to the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s (PDE) $38.6 million grant that was awarded through the United States Department of Education’s Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy Program. Additional information about the Keystones to Opportunity grant can be found here.
