Instructional Goals
In Topic A, we examined how to align a standards-based education that addresses students’ current academic needs, with the critical thinking and metacognitive development that they will need to be successful in their futures. In this section we will look at the goals of instruction. These goals will include fully engaging students and transferring learning from teacher-centered instruction to guided instruction, and ultimately developing fully independent learners.
